Privacy Notice
This is the privacy notice of Paragondental. In this document, “we”, “our”, or “us” refer to Paragondental.
Introduction
This notice explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website. It sets out the conditions under which we may process any information that we collect from you, or that you provide to us.
We take the protection of your privacy and confidentiality seriously. We understand that visitors to our website are entitled to know that their personal data will not be misused, disclosed to unintended parties, or held longer than necessary.
Our policy complies with UK law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
The bases on which we process your information
The law requires us to determine under which lawful bases we process personal data, and to notify you of the basis for each type of processing.

1. Contractual obligation
If you join us as a patient or otherwise agree to our terms and conditions, a contract is formed between you and us. In order to carry out our obligations under that contract we must process the information you provide. For example:
-
verifying your identity for security purposes
-
providing you with our services
-
managing your enquiries and appointments
We process this information on the basis that there is a contract between us, or that you have requested we use the information before entering into a contract.

2. Consent
In some situations — such as signing up for marketing emails, or submitting a contact form on our site — you provide consent for us to process your information.
We will only send you marketing communications (such as practice updates, oral health tips, or offers) if you have given explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” in our emails or contacting us at info@paragondental.co.uk.

3. Legal obligation
We may process your personal information where we are subject to legal requirements, for example to comply with tax, regulatory, or professional obligations.

Information collected through our website
When you contact us, whether by telephone, email, or through our website, we collect the data you provide in order to respond to your enquiry. This information is stored securely in our website platform (Wix) and in our practice management systems as appropriate.
We retain enquiry information for up to 3 months on our website platform, and longer in our practice management system if you become a patient.

Third-party services we use
Wix (website host & platform)
Our website is built and hosted on Wix.com Ltd. Wix acts as a data processor on our behalf. Wix provides website hosting, security, analytics, and content management services. Personal data submitted through our website (such as via contact forms) may be stored securely on Wix servers located outside the UK, including in the EU, the United States, or Israel. Wix ensures adequate safeguards are in place for international data transfers. For more information, see Wix’s Privacy Policy: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.

Wix Analytics
We use Wix Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Wix Analytics sets cookies to collect information such as pages visited, visit duration, and traffic sources. This information is aggregated and does not personally identify users. You can manage your cookie preferences using the banner displayed when you first visit our site.

Google Analytics
We also use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. GA4 uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our site, such as which pages are visited, how long visitors spend on the site, and how users navigate between pages. Google may transfer this data to servers outside the UK. IP anonymisation is enabled, which means your IP address is truncated before being processed by Google.
For more details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Google Maps
Our website includes an embedded Google Map to show our location. Google may collect data about your interaction with the map, which may include your IP address and browser information. This data may be processed on servers outside the UK. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Search Console (GSC)
We use GSC to monitor the performance of our website in Google search results. This does not set cookies on your device or collect personally identifiable information.

Cookies
Our website uses cookies to:
-
ensure the site works correctly (essential cookies)
-
collect statistics on how visitors use our site (analytics cookies)
-
display interactive features such as Google Maps
On your first visit to our website, you will see a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can update your preferences at any time.

Security of your information
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to encrypt data transmitted between your browser and our website. Wix also provides industry-standard security measures to protect stored data.

Your rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to:
-
access the personal data we hold about you
-
request correction of inaccurate information
-
request deletion of your information where applicable
-
restrict or object to certain types of processing
-
withdraw consent at any time
You may exercise these rights by contacting us at info@paragondental.co.uk.
If you are dissatisfied with how we process your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk/concerns/.

Retention of enquiry data
We keep website enquiry data for up to 12 months on our Wix platform. This allows us to handle your enquiry, track follow-ups, and understand the context if you get back in touch later. After this period, the data is securely deleted from Wix.
If you become a patient, your information is stored in our practice management system and retained in line with UK dental record-keeping requirements (normally at least 11 years for adults, or until a child’s 25th birthday, whichever is longer).

Review of this policy
